RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association Recognizes Outstanding Contributions to the Family Building Community
(McLean, VA, August 16, 2011) – RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association is pleased to announce that Dr. Alan DeCherney will be honored with the Barbara Eck Founders Award. Dr. DeCherney will accept his award at RESOLVE’s Night of Hope. As the organization for the patient community, RESOLVE established the Hope Awards to recognize professionals, companies, volunteers, and the media who have demonstrated innovation and compassion to benefit people struggling with infertility.
“It is a unique honor to be recognized by RESOLVE,” said DeCherney. “After all, it is the patients that count the most.”
The Night of Hope attracts more than 300 leaders and influencers in the family building community. This year’s event will take place on September 13, 2011 at Guastavino’s in New York City. Attendees of this year’s Night of Hope will be treated to a special one-on-one interview with Dr. DeCherney, conducted by Fox & Friends co-host and RESOLVE Board Member Alisyn Camerota.
Dr. DeCherney is being honored with RESOLVE’s highest award for his legacy of patient care and leadership in the infertility field. Dr. DeCherney was a pioneer when IVF was first performed successfully in the U.S. He was among a handful of physicians who treated some of the earliest patients. Dr. DeCherney has mentored more than 100 Reproductive Endocrinologists over the years. Because of his dedication, every infertility patient over the last 30 years has been impacted by his work, either through his research, mentorship of physicians, or leadership in every professional organization in this field of medicine.
“RESOLVE is delighted to recognize Dr. DeCherney for his outstanding contributions to the family building community,” said Barbara Collura, RESOLVE’s Executive Director. “It is only fitting for RESOLVE to honor this great doctor and the Night of Hope is the perfect occasion to publicly thank him for his service to our community. He has also been a great friend to RESOLVE over the years. ”
